About The Artwork
This artwork shows an attribution of human behavior to an animal. After testing out different mediums I decided to use oil paint mainly for its rich hues and thickness. Cheetahs are associated with opportunity and luxury. I aimed to show an unusual but familiar scene which I crafted by showcasing a cheetah resting on a bed. I learned techniques such as impasto which helped me give a grass-like effect to the bedsheets and underpainting which helped map out the cheetah's features precisely.
