About The Artwork
The painting is inspired on a photograph found in an old magazine. The photo was taken minutes before the anarchist activist Paulino Sacarfó was led before a firing squad that shot him dead in Febraury 1931. The sentence was issued following the military coup d'état of 1930 that ended the mandate of president Hipólito Yrigoyen in Argentina. Paulino Scarfó was associated with Severino Di Giovanni . Severino di Giovanni was shot dead the same day, minutes before Paulino Scarfó. They were both very notorious libertarian activists.

Gabriel Glaiman, Buenos Aires, 1969 Since 1998, he has worked as an artist and as a teacher at the University of Buenos Aires, Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism. In 2001, he was awarded the "Fondo Nacional de las Artes - The British Council 2001" scholarship to pursue postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom, graduating as a Master of Fine Arts (MA Fine Art) from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London in October 2002. Currently, he teaches at the University of Buenos Aires and the National University of Avellaneda and works in visual arts in Buenos Aires.
