About The Artwork
I wandered the docks of Antwerp, looking up at huge trawlers, cargo ships, rusted surfaces, faded letter & numbers and the marks of the tide. The inspiration in aged metal, deep hued colours, reds & blues and the thickest of paint, applied liberally over years & eaten away by sea salt. This painting reflects & mirrors those surfaces, highlighting the tactility of the paintwork. This painting is a bright piece, and will be the focus point of any interior for its shadowy reds. The painting needs no frame, it is painted onto wood, it can hang directly into any wall using a picture hook. No cords or wires needed.
