James Zamora's realism “aisle paintings” are well-known throughout the US. Using different spatial compositions the artist translates common marketplace imagery into a stylized, elevated environment. Working in oil paint, he explores the representation of elements that surround us in daily life in unexpected still lifes. Zamora's artworks examine the particularity between the relationship of our eyes with the subtleties of our immediate reaction. His paintings investigate current supermarket trends and the response of the consumer captivated by the abundance of delightful choices. This twix candy chocolate bar has a soft form that is contrasted by the gold, red, and white wrapper.
