About The Artwork

The objective of this painting is to give a different image, something new than what a portrait of a woman can be. We are very used to seeing portraits of women, but the funny thing is that we rarely stop to think that the vast majority of these portraits have been painted by men. I do not mean to criticize great portraitists, but it is true that there has always been an attempt to idealize the figure of women, representing most of the time the features that have been liked the most in each era. I think it is time for us (women) to speak up and teach what we want to, to decide which parts are most worthy of portraying. That is why I bring this portrait, it has no volume, it is not sensual, it does not tell an impressive story, it simply contains a normal face that is being composed little by little, brushstroke by brushstroke ... and it is precious still.

Born in 2000, Valencia, Spain I am a young visual artist that works in acrylic, oil and graffiti. I aim to experience the mix of different media combining them toward distinct bodies of work. I started painting as a fauvist and street artist, I later on focused on abstract art, and I am currently interested in figurativism. The aim of my work is to capture human emotions, to show different perspectives of human faces, most of the time from women. Since I was a kid I was fascinated by the soiling effects from the buildings and, as a matter of fact, I study architecture... It was one of the things that I wanted to show on my paintings, through the constantly present degraded part of the compositions. I think that none of us is flawless and that this is what makes our beauty. Followed by the fact that the backgrounds are inspired by ideas that arise on the street, I wanted them to always maintain that connection with urban art, which is why I always let the graffiti take part of the compositions.
