ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"They say that patriotism is the last refuge to which a scoundrel clings, steal a little, and they throw you in jail. Steal a lot and then they make you king." ― Bob Dylan Apparently, America didn't learn about totalitarianism the first time around. Jan.6 was not enough. Perhaps this painting is even more pertinent now?! Though I love to bring color, fun, and energy to life on canvas, sometimes as an artist you have a duty to paint the sign of the times. My aim was to expose the angst and dread that so many of us felt. The use of imagery and words are all there to encourage critical thinking. The title comes from 45's tweet about the drone being taken by the China, that tweet is in the bottom right, he misspelled unprecedented, and it's pretty fitting of what was to come. Also on the phone in bottom right, is the phone's battery charge, it reflects the 46%, the percentage of the popular vote. More photos available upon request.

Globally collected abstract expressionist artist based in California, U.S. I grew up drawing on everything: sketchbooks, notepads, candy wrappers. That passion eventually led to working with incredible names like Warner Brothers and the Dali Museum. But creating for others wasn't making me happy anymore, I wanted to create art that reflected my own ideas. Not long after that epiphany, I left corporate America. These days, I work out of my home studio using—acrylics, oils, ink, spray paint, you name it. Breaking the rules I once learned in art feels so natural now. But the hardest lesson for me to learn, was how to get out of my own way, trust the process, let go and get in the flow. Inspiration comes from how I see the world—chaotic, layered, and ever-changing, much like my ADHD mind. I rarely stick to one series or theme, preferring to explore and push boundaries. Somehow, that unpredictability brings a sense of peace. And hopefully that keeps things fresh and interesting, so you might want to see what's new! Whether you are a creator or a collector, I feel art is a reminder for us to honor and nurture our authentic selves in a world that often tries to define us or box us in. Profound thanks to all my collectors for supporting me on this incredible journey together!
