The storm's fervor orchestrates an atmospheric ballet, the billowing turmoil of the sky mirroring the relentless waves below. Within this atmospheric tumult, a lone ship emerges as the focal point, its red banner defiantly aflutter against the storm's somber palette. The ship, a tribute to human perseverance, navigates the colossal azure waves with unwavering resolve. Each surge is a testament to the ocean's unbridled power, yet the ship forges ahead, epitomizing humanity's indomitable spirit in the face of nature's magnificence. As the ship surges and descends through the tumultuous waters, the red flag remains steadfast, an emblem of audacity in the face of the sea's challenges. The rhythm of the ocean's swell forms a dramatic backdrop, underscoring the resolute essence of human endeavor. In this turbulent pas de deux, the verses of John Masefield's poem echo: "I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life, To the gull’s way and the whale’s way, where the wind’s like a whetted knife…" These lines breathe life into the scene, capturing the irresistible allure of the sea's vastness and the unquenchable yearning for exploration. The ship, navigating through these waves and echoing Masefield's sentiment, encapsulates the enduring connection between mankind and the boundless embrace of the sea.

Valentyna Rybkina was born in 1977. After graduating from National University with a Master's in Politology and Sociology, she started to oil paint in 2013 as a self-taught artist influenced by great artists like Aivazovsky. She invites you to remember with her paintings the sunny and happy places you may have visited or plan to visit again, to see how beautiful nature is. She hopes you can look at the colors of her painting, enjoy them, relax, and forget about your problems. Life is good ;) She is especially interested in oil landscapes (ocean and seascape) and has always been passionate about flowers - these are the main thematic focus of all her works.
