Welcome at my accoun. So nice to see you here, and to see that you are interested in my work Nature is all around us and deep within us. Landscapes remain an important subject for artists to this day. And also for me nature is my main inspiration. We cannot draw enough attention to the importance of treating our nature and environment with respect. Besides the abstraction of nature, the process of creating a painting is a main theme in my work. I make large paintings in powerful gestures and an often they show an explosion of color. Relying on an intuitive and expressive painting process. The works are built up in layers, the canvas is alternately laid down and placed upright. My work was described by the curator of a Dutch museum as "in the striking and powerful gestures with which Danielle applies the paint, there is a certain daring in handwriting and brushstrokes, a determination in choosing and treating her materials. Large pools of acrylic paint are poured over sharp brushstrokes in oil paint. Parts are polished or sanded, other parts are highlighted and emphasized with a new layer of paint. Looking at her work you feel that she too has mastered her subject so completely that the distinction between seeing, experiencing and making disappears. Each painting reflects a deeply felt idea of what we consider natural and therefore becomes almost as self-evident as nature itself. For me painting is a way to express my adoration and respect for nature....not always does this needs to be the greatness of a landscape. often it is a little weed that catches my sight, or flowers that are bloomed and getting other colors and shapes than they did when the where in their full bloom. the way water moves, the way leaves and twigs are moving in that moving water. the reflection in the water, the structures of trees, the form of a branch, anything. with painting the memories of those things I saw, and not try to paint exactly what I saw, I create an new nature, one that grew in my head and under my hands, one that maybe can start a new life when you look at it, or when it becomes part of your home. I hope to inspire and bring joy into your place with my paintings.
