About The Artwork

In 2021, people are chasing topicality. They watch what their idols, friends and colleagues buy and are afraid of being out of date. There is a problem of hyperconsumption. Many artists stop creating what they love and start creating to please the buyer. Very often the author hears a question from friends: what kind of art is being sold now? What do they buy the most? Art has stopped being sincere, coming from the artist's heart. The golden dollar, made in the technique of gilding, criticizes society - "buy-sell" has replaced the beauty of the surrounding world. ARTIST: Valeria Golovenkina WORK: Original Acrylic painting, Handmade artwork MEDIUM:Acrylic on Board FRAME: Hand crafted varnished charcoal YEAR: 2021 TITLE: "Venal Art" DIMENSIONS: 20x20 cm / 27x27 cm Framed Ships in box

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I'm a self-taught artist. My art carries what many people in big cities miss-the sun, the sea, the salty wind on their skin, the atmosphere of Mediterranean cities is relaxed and carefree, so the sea and water are the main subjects of my work. I am endlessly inspired by color and light, and the glare, contrast, and reflexes make my heart race. I remember a phrase my dad said to me: "Never lose your taste for life." I've been struggling with depression for several years and I want my paintings to help people cope with sadness and heavy emotions. I want to savor every bite, every emotion, every moment I've lived. This is what my marine art is about.
