The main entrance road to Pueblo Eden is unpaved and vehicles are asked to go slow, enjoy nature. All are warned that the only ones flying here are the birds, and that this is a slow town. This main road continues for four blocks and then it keeps going and disappears into the rolling hills and the horizon. When weddings are celebrated in town everyone is invited and celebrations happen throughout the little village, surrounded by green hills and delicately brightened by the sun. Animals show up in town as any other creature. So although the dog does not belong to the just married couple, he still poses for the photo, along with a neighbor’s cat. Guinea fowls, mulitas and lizards also show up in their smartest form and ready to mingle. The kids with the maypoles have been practicing for weeks to elegantly carry the flowers and let the ribbons flow, like a stream. There are many more stories to tell about this and other weddings, this is just a snapshot the young photographer took (it is his first wedding gig, but no one else knows).

This painting was part of the solo exhibit “Painting stories from Pueblo Eden” at the Museo Regional de Arte, Maldonado, Uruguay, 2019.

Sabina found success early in her art career. When she was 6 years old, one of her drawings drew a bidding war between two art collectors. Another of her drawings was selected for the cover of a record. Before her 10th birthday she sold prints of her drawings and donated funds to Children's Hospitals. Throughout her career she focused on figurative ink drawings with intricate details. Sabina has been influenced by Henri Rousseau, Caleb Ives Bach, Marrnyula Munungurr, Mulkun Wirrpanda, and Francisco Toledo. She treasures early American folk art, Pre-columbian, Aboriginal Australian, and Native American art.
