About The Artwork
I was inspired by some South Seas painters like this one Painter Paul Gauguin, whom I like a lot as well as Emil Nolde and today's painter Peter Doig. The motif came from a postcard that I photographed in a Jamaican shop. There are many small bars in the Jamaican villages. Almost everyone has these posters and postcards for comendees and events. most of them with women who are very feminine, curvy and who are very tightly dressed or have nothing on. I was trying to understand how the women are shown out here and what it's like in reality. The image is one role of many. In this picture the woman is Eve waiting for Adam. In an idyllic, tropical landscape, under a palm tree by the turquoise sea. I was interested in playing with the clichéd Caribbean vibe. I also tried to immerse myself in the culture and metality on this extraordinary island in order to understand it better.

She uses the camera instead of a sketchbook and likes to bring poetic, picturesque language into her work as a photographer. Her stylistic devices vary between Impressionist realism and expressive abstraction. She loves jazz dance, good coffee and flowers.
