WILD MOUNTAIN ROSE — Wild roses basking in an alpine meadow was a top delight of summer backpacking in the Trinity Alps Wilderness. The exquisite pink petals and viridian leaves of the rose against a backdrop of glowing jagged mountains so uniquely the Trinities, had me at surrender. Using long thick brushstrokes to capture the vibrant aliveness of this alpine scene is to bask in them forever.
