A stormy day at the sea can be a metaphor for inner feelings and emotions.... I love the beautiful traces and marks that come from this mixed media watercolor technique... this painting is about light and wind and the beauty of storm with the light already coming through... the promise of a new day, a clear head and a new chance in life! 30x60 cm, watercolor, ink on gallery wrapped canvas, sides painted white with light painting process traces, hook on the back. Varnished for Protection. Signed on the back and Certificate of Authenticity. Comes unframed, no frame needed, the frames are just examples what it could look like. If you want to frame, the painting will like white, dark grey, black, silver, golden frames! (c) 2019 Gesa Reuter, all rights reserved. Germany
Based in Germany, Gesa Reuter’s artistic practice started in 1996. She has since studied the techniques of the old Dutch masters, layering selfmade gouache, egg tempera and sometimes oil to build her paintings with different layers of paint from thin to thick. Recently she has discovered the power of watercolours and ink in her work, enjoying the way the watery materials leave marks and traces to describe her inner feelings and emotions. Rather than painting an accurate visual representation of a landscape, she prefers to use the power of memory; her artworks are an expression of her feelings and emotions in the moment of experiencing the landscape." (Inside Artists, Issue 9, Summer 2017) So far, her works have been exhibited in Germany and Europe, mainly sold to private collectors in Germany, U.S.A., UK, NL, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, to architects, small companies, private medical and psychological practices. In public collection of Amateras Foundation, Bulgaria, NHS England and Kunsthaus Stove, Germany.
