About The Artwork
This work represents a woman stroking a bird. It is painted in black acrylic paint on board. I "paint" by actually etching and scratching on the board (see here for more about his original technique: https://www.jacksonsart.com/blog/2017/03/30/painting-feeling-reality-interview-louis-blondiau/). I use this technique because I think it permits me to convey a higher sense of reality. This painting is about fragility and tenderness. The challenge was to paint a hand that seems to caress the bird.
