About The Artwork
Zigzag is a painting from the series Interface, which is series of paintings that depict injured, bruised, and wounded faces on pastel coloured backgrounds. Abstract shapes are painted out of, into, through, and on top of the faces; hiding, re animating, and energizing the inanimate images of inanimate faces. Here, I am interested in how these juxtapositions (injured face/abstract shape) generate meaning.
