Simon-Philip Hubbard (b.1977) is an artist & designer working in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, UK - the birth place of Sir Charles Darwin. After graduating from Coventry School Of Art & Design (Coventry University) Hubbard began focusing on mixed media and his expressive application of materials. Driven on impulse and spontaneous creative urge, a single piece will typically be a rework of several previous pieces resulting in intricate, heavily textured and complex final pieces. Hubbard displays a real challenger mentality, his erratic creative style results in original works that combine modern mixed media techniques with a more traditional acrylic painting discipline. A highly regarded and successful commercial design, brand & marketing director by day, self-taught photographer and expressive artist by night, Hubbard is an upcoming talent whose best work we suspect is yet to come.
