Tranquil in Reflection Painting

A triptych created through screen and digital print, using a series of wave tuck embroidery techniques and silk to construct a mesmerising 3D rhythmic pattern that flows through the three pieces. This piece was developed through a body of research centred around evidenced based colours and pattern in calming the mind. This work is intended to create a feeling of tranquillity in an environment therefore nature was an encompassing inspiration, specifically bodies of water and fluidity. The silk used to create the rich colour on the folds of the piece was hand dyed to a specific hue and cut to a particular size in order to create the desired effect on its viewer. Whilst the background is created on canvas to ensure a precise fold and designed with a subtle flowing pattern to intertwine the works of art.
