In 1990, The A1 Steam Locomotive Trust started construction on the first Peppercorn Class A1 steam engine to be built since the demise of the class in 1966 at the end of the British Rail steam era. 19 years later, after completing construction, testing and trials, 60163 “Tornado” (named after the RAF Gulf War aircraft) was revealed at the National Railway Museum in York, UK. Now painted in her LNER apple green colours and “BRITISH RAILWAYS” painted on her tender, this photo show Tornado at Kidderminster Station, on the Seven Valley Line, just about to depart on a trip to Bridgnorth
