The digitally enhanced photograph BIG CAT STARE BEFORE IT ENDED [44 x 88], is an over-sized limited edition print from the artist's photo safari journal notes of the big cats brought to the rain forest jungle in Bali Indonesia's international big cat breeding reserve. The international breeding project is attempting to repopulate the big cat breeds to eventually repopulate their natural habitats. So many of these big cats raised in captivity, are used to their close proximity to people, yet they do seem to be have a tempered tolerance for tourists. This cat was photographed coming out of a "CAT NAP", when only seconds later it became clear the cat made no distinction between the pile of fresh meat the game keepers placed near him for lunch--and the potentially tasty group of strangers who were way too close to the hungry cat at its meal time. Only seconds after this photograph, the angry cat taught us all the valuable lessons of when to retreat from the presence of a hungry big cat. The game keeper told us this cat was 400 lbs. without shoes.
