Dev Banerjee's diverse family background comprising of musicians, performing artists and travellers have had a positive influence on his creative pursuit. He likes to explore the oddities of experimental angles and perspectives of his subjects in his photographs. Dev tries to create an atmosphere of stillness in his minimalist compositions. His works are more mystic and open ended rather than definitive and often reflect a deliberate inertia. His predominant use of wide-angle lenses also aims to stretch the use of negative spaces in his photographs. He calls himself a freestyle artist absorbed in the myriad tales of Nature.
