This image shows the construction site, frozen in time on Saturday 16th March 2019. No workers were present. A set of steps near the front of the image invites the viewer to step into the scene to explore. Despite the lack of humanity, we see the highly detailed evidence of industry; Cement mixers, ladders, storage boxes, cables and more are scattered throughout the desolate site. The Power Station is partly clad in a protective suit during its development. An abundance of high-rise cranes dominates the skyline. Powered-down for the weekend and all facing in the same direction. The cranes are asleep but seem to be taking over, like some kind of science fiction. They are what inspired me to photograph this shifting urban landscape.
