The centerpiece building in the image is a real futuristic tower in Seoul which invites the creation of science fiction scenarios. About the Artist

Giacomo Oteri

South Korea

He was brought up in different countries, and was exposed to many cultures namely, Syrian, French, Australian, German, and now Korean.
Nationality: Italian, Australian. Born in Italy
He was an instructor in fine art photography at Seoul National University, Hanyang University, Kookmin University, and Sangmyung University in Seoul. He has been a member for an international jury for photography in Korea. My first interest in photography was about the approach of Henry Cartier- Bresson. The decisive moment within an everlasting observation of the living environment in our modern cities: Street photography on steroids. Attending art school somehow forced me to define what photography was/is about: An egregious appropriation activity of somebody else’s design. One of the greatest limitations of photography is not its mechanical nature of creating an image, but the fact that a photographer does not create anything, it grabs, selects, frames, something already existing in the world at large, and makes it his own with copyright to boot. I’m not trying to denigrate the act of photographing anything, but in absolute terms, we are living in an environment which can be loosely labeled as a designer’s product. Within these considerations I find it ridiculous the reaction of some ‘classic photographers’ to the new AI technology, which is, if anything, conceptually reinforcing and not degrading photography. The photographic image might have become the product of a subjective reality, but this was already happening with the advent of Photoshop editing software in the 90s. Digital photography only accelerated the changing nature of traditional photography. I will use anything at my disposal to produce an image that best reflects my ‘reality’.
