About The Artwork
This piece is a studio photograph of a chandelier, inspired by the pop art aesthetic of Andy Warhol and Jeff Koons, printed on a 30 x 40 inch aluminum substrate. The ink used for the shadows is matte and for the highlights semi-gloss, which gives the highlights a sheen from certain angles. Hanging hardware is included. The subject, a cheap chandelier is hung and photographed in a studio setting which evokes both the consumerist commentary of the pop art movement and the contemporary experience of product imagery on eCommerce sites like Amazon.com. My hope is to add to the pop art conversation through the lens of online media. The piece is a great looking and thought-provoking addition to any household.
