About The Artwork

Gicleé - FineArtPrint on 3 mm Aluminium Dibond - ready to hang Edition - Unique Signed Certificate of authenticity "Coming back ..." is a member of "family 450" and has - like all other family members - come a long way. It's based on a photo, in which I digitally coloured the areas of an abstraction of architecture fragments. The result is a work with the title "Collisions Nr 450", which is sort of "the" ancestor of all family members. I started randomly cutting out fragments from this picture, rearranging them randomly anew. The same with the result, same with the result, same with the result, same with the result - every time leading to a bigger picture. Finally I added my barcode, filling the black stripes with a 180 degree turn of the fourth fragmentation, which ended in a work called "The change within distance", which then again was the basis for other works. So "Coming back ..." is an abstraction of an abstraction, of an abstraction of an abstraction of an abstraction and the "child" of another artwork. It's an ongoing transfromation from one artwork into another. I love the idea of creating a new work out of an existing one, transforming one into another, so that there is a connection between my works. Like a big family, everybody is related with each other. One more, the other less. It's the same in life in general: everything is related, everything that happens, is good for something else, everything has a reason. Relatives of "Coming back from where we have not been" are: "Moving backwards" "Collisions 450" "Don't walk pass the dead wood" "Into the wild" "The change within distance" "Skip and run" "The consequences of parenthood" "The star spangled banner" "Connecting thoughts" "Shaking the pursuit of happiness" I'm offering these works rather in the category photography, though it's mostly digital edited, because it's all based on a single photo. The creative process is more like digital painting. At least to me it feels like painting. As it is with paintings, I'm selling "Coming back ..." as a unique piece.
