ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I took this photograph at the entrance to Guanabara Bay. I was in a fort, which is in Niterói, from where you have this view of Rio de Janeiro. In this image, we can see the Sugarloaf Mountain and Corcovado, which are the main tourist attractions of this city. The natural beauty of Rio de Janeiro inspired me to take this photograph.

Martiniano Ferraz is a Brazilian artist who lives in Recife, Pernambuco. It was during holiday trips, while still working as an architect, that he was charmed by photography. Nature, architecture and the urban are the themes he usually photographed. From 2020, while isolated in his home due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Martiniano Ferraz began to produce also geometric and abstract digital arts, where it is common to have vibrant colors and three-dimensional effects. One of its greatest sources of inspiration, in the use of color, is the art produced by the Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes.
