About The Artwork
The Bilbunya Dunes are some of the highest and most remote sand dunes in Australia. They face the Southern Ocean and a wedged against the Baxter Cliffs. There was a tremendous storm the day before and the following day clouds were rolling in still heavy with rain. The light changes so dramatically and quickly that shadows and contrast shift in seconds. The sand is hard and filled with abstract patterns made from years of sediment mixing with fine white sand.
