About The Artwork

LIBIDO CUNCTOS ETIAM SUB VULTU DOMAT is a Latin verse coined by the famous Roman dramatist Publilio Siro, born in the first century b.c and it means: "Passion dominates everyone even if you do not always show it”. This project shows hidden and intimate orgasms. The characters, dehumanized under a veil, can be themselves without being ashamed of their passion. In many of my works there is a strong reference to the history of art and the use of a veil, which is always used as a filter between the subjects and reality. The scenographic elements are inspired by the ancient art (Greek / Roman) while the strong light rich of contrast, it is inspired by the master painters from the Dutch Golden Age.
