About The Artwork
I have been on a journey, following a sea of troubles within our world. When I look at war and suffering within photojournalists work, I travel there in my imagination and feel despair. I have tried to create my own reaction to the places they have taken me to. My inspiration for the missing rung sadly came from the shadow lands of hiroshima. This work was exhibited within my exhibition 'Post Action/reaction' and was awarded the ALUMNI fineart prize at Manchester Art School by artist Ben White (British art show). "Pelvis et umbra sums" Horace (we are but dust and shadow) At Nellie Shepherd's Studio our limited edition prints are printed onto premium Archival Grade (405gms) canvas stretched on a 45mm deep frame and pressure laminated for long life and resistance to fading. Our stretched canvases are the best available and hand stretched by craftsmen. The frames are fitted with wedges to allow for adjustment over the life of the picture and are finished with taped backs and hangers so that they are ready to hang. We use the top of the range large format Epson printer and genuine Epson pigment inks. Your image is printed at high resolution from RIP software using ICC profiles to ensure accurate colour. We use a heavy 405gsm canvas, which is pH Neutral and meets the archival standards set forth by the ‘Fine Art Trade Guild’. Prints are allowed to cure for 24 hours before being laminated using museum grade varnish Matte. This provides protection from scuffs and moisture. You are then able to wipe the canvas with a slightly damp cloth if required. The veneer also prevents the print from cracking. Your canvas will have an archival life of over 100 years! Our stretcher bars are finger jointed from the best grade European Redwood Pine which means that the bars are clean, dry, knot and spore free as well as being strong and straight with a significantly reduced chance of warping over time. All our limited print editions come with a certificate of authenticity and they are hand signed on the back of the canvas by Nellie Shepherd.

Nellie Shepherd is one of the most creative, ART event designers in England, and certainly has the experience and clients to warrant this title. Nellie has created Art event installations for Angelina Jolie, Jk Rowling, Madonna and many other celebrities. Thanks to her formal training in both Fine Art and Drama and her theatrical background performing in London’s West End, Nellie's designs are highly theatrical; combining drama with art to create her trade mark “Wonderland Installations”. It all started with Nellie’s Art Class, which was born in the kitchen but quickly grew into a gymnasium in the heart of Camden Town in London, where Nellie and her artistic friends created art workshops. Making headlines; numerous TV appearances; and raising thousands of pounds for children's charities, Nellie’s Art Class became a sensation attracting children from all walks of life. Richard Curtis, Lucien Freud, Jonathan Ross, Bob Geldolf, Lulu Guinness and many other celebrities sent their children and grandchildren to be inspired by Nellie’s creative talents. Before long Nellie was teaching her own brand of art and drama to people of all ages. Nellie also started to create and run art parties in her Art Studios in Camden & Notting hill each one more spectacular and extravagant than the last, and quickly established her reputation as second to none. Even the saatchi brothers offered go into business with nellie but she decided to go it alone! On the back of her success, Penguin commissioned Nellie to write a series of books specialising in children's creativity: she now has seven books published by Penguin’s DK: My Art/Animal/Puppet/Picture/Christmas/Ultimate Art Class, and (her award winning) My Party Art Class. Each of these have been published internationally, and translated into numerous languages. Nellie now spends her time working on bespoke event installations all over the world and private art commisions.
