"Sideways" was taken during a tulip festival on the Long Island North Fork. I particularly liked this image for the pastel colors, but I thought the perspective was interesting. I've had many instances in life where I've asked myself, 'Is the world going sideways, or is it just my perspective?'. Either way, we have no choice but to stand tall and strong, and I thought this white tulip was the embodiment of that. Based on the clouds and horizon, we don't know if the world is at a tilt, or if it's the flower. But the flower is standing tall, strong and alone. And so do we. This original photo is available on non-acid paper, signed and dated by the artist.
