About The Artwork

**** Limited Edition Prints #1 and #2 of 2 **** I shot this in 1998 on a Canon AE1 loaded with Black & White 35mm film. I was sitting on a bicycle when i shot this image. I don't know for sure if this is a man or woman, I was too nervous to turn and look at the face. the one hand exposed looks small, very clean and smooth. Both prints were made in 1999 by me. Only two prints exist plus one artist proof and I will include the sliced up negative with these two prints. The negatives were Never scanned. This is a "person" hanging around on the streets, Wilshire Blvd. and La Brea Ave. area of Los Angeles, Ca. This person has a spray bottle of cleaning solution and some clothing with them. This person was taking a break from washing windows for money. the #1 print has a small 1/32 of an inch tear on the left hand border edge only. if the print is framed the small tear will be covered. first print is slightly lighter and less contrast than the 2nd print. both prints have two small white dots ( could have been dust on negative but not a typical dust spot) to the left and right of persons hat. signed and dated on back of print and the negative has been destroyed. I made both prints with my hands in the darkroom . The paper is Kodak polyfiber double weight matte . the actual print is 5 3/4" by 4" on 8x10 paper. Limited edition of 2 both prints are signed, numbered and dated on back . Collector gets both prints the only two printed. One artist proof remains and the negative is sliced up . You get both Limited Edition prints, #1 and #2 of 2 signed and dated.

Hi I'm Anthony "Moda" Monterotti , photographer in Los Angeles, Ca. I am the photographer in June 2014 while doing street photography work in Los Angeles, Ca. and shooting the Actor Jonah Hill as he then assaulted me with a homophobic slur. He called me a "faggot" and then said to me, " suck my dick you faggot". You can look all this up on TMZ, the link https://www.tmz.com/2014/06/03/jonah-hill-homophobic-slur-paparazzi-video/ The disappointing and sad part about it all is that Jonah Hill made a public apology filled with lies about me to try and garner sympathy and get a pass for his homophobic outburst. It worked for him and to this day he has never apologized to me. here is the TMZ link to this event: https://www.tmz.com/2014/06/03/jonah-hill-homophobic-slur-paparazzi-video/ Moving forward, I'm a serious photographer and artist. I studied Communication Arts Media at Framingham University Located just outside, Boston, Massachusetts and graduated in 1993, Cum Laude. I moved to Los Angeles, Ca. in 1995. I have a fundamental interest in the random people I meet on the streets of Los Angeles. A street portrait is very challenging but when you capture a thin slice of someone's essence, esp. after only a brief and random encounter, it becomes a lasting and fulfilling event. I normally ride thru the streets on a bicycle bc Los Angeles is so spread out. Riding a bicycle is a fantastic way to see things . Like others have said; recognizing those individuals who are overlooked by society feels like a bit of my personal legend. Street images don't usually make great wall art but I just loved being out there documenting with people. And in 1995 I began shooting head shots for actors using a Canon AE1 film camera. I have also done many weddings, VIP Events, portraits, and PR Images for celebrities. I have also shot well over 10,000 college portraits throughout Southern California . However my real passion was always on the streets shooting random people. I had 5 bicycles stolen and luckily onlyattacked on the streets once in 17 years of shooting street images. I shot my first photograph in the first grade with a plastic Diana camera that my Father gave to me. I still have my very first photo i shot with that Diana Camera in 1969 of two school girls running away from me in the school yard.
