About The Artwork

The original painting was inspired by the artist's zodiac and is a reminder that "a lion doesn't have to prove it's a threat because you already know what the lion is cable of". We have no obligation to prove to anyone who we are. This is captured in the steady steeliness of the lion's stare, no need to roar. The original painting was created with multiple iridescent acrylic paint colors on a 48"x48" gallery stretched canvas with a palette knife, brush and fingers. Original is no longer available for sale. It's the first in a collection of paintings with similar themes and techniques. Limited edition black and white prints (15) are produced on high definition 1/4" deep polished edge acrylic and metallic paper mounted with reinforced aluminum backing. Once all 15 limited edition black and white prints are sold, no more will be produced. All Reproductions are certified by ArtTrust and are accompanied by an ArtTrust bubble seal and ArtTrust Certificate of Authenticity. The reproduction technique delivers a lustrous viewing pleasure that enhances the effect of the lion coming out of the darkness. It comes alive in low lighting evoking deep emotions when standing close looking back into the eyes of the king of the jungle. Inquire for smaller sizes.

Mark Phi is an international artist who believes in the ideology that we all have the ability to create and make an impact on our world. Mark Phi, through his “Impact Model”, partners with organizations across the globe to deliver a high value customized experience that translates into financial benefit to charitable organizations and those they help ultimately. Mark Phi holds these charitable organizations accountable to use proceeds generated from his art for the purpose of making a difference in the lives of those in need of help. For example, the Impact Model has provided loving homes for orphans throughout China since 2015, generates funds to educate children in Jamaica, creates pathways out of poverty for vulnerable children in South Africa and more. Among the collectors of his work are some of Europe’s wealthiest philanthropists, American investment moguls and Bob Marley enthusiast. Mark Phi is the only artist to have a permanent collection of fine art paintings on exhibit at the Bob Marley museum. Mark Phi established Mark Phi Creations as a social business enterprise that executes the “Impact Model” internationally, demonstrating to others that we can make an impact on the lives of others while benefiting. Through creation we make an impact. “Phi”, is the 21st letter of the Greek alphabet, it is also the symbol that represents the divine quotient, golden ratio or The Creator of the universe’s mathematical representation in nature. It’s 1.61800339… a ratio that is embedded in the design of our universe. It’s represented in the proportions of our body, our DNA, the spirals in sea shells and beyond to the proportions in celestial bodies. For the artist it represents the universal innate ability within all of us… the ability to “Create” and leave a “Mark” behind… just like The Creator. That is Mark Phi. Create Impact.
