Continuing my experimentation with new media and digital painting. The artwork is painted with a digital brush which can achieve effects impossible by traditional means. This particular artwork uses a brush 'loaded' with paint spots where the parameters (chosen by the artist) are altered to create different splatter effects. All the spots are perfectly symmetrical but are painted in such a way as to give the impression of depth or perspective. As with many of the artworks in this series, I enjoy pushing the boundaries between figurative and abstract art. I have a used a slightly different technique with this artwork with a looser, yet simpler end result set against a soft canvas textured background. It has also been published as Vril, the Power of the Coming Race. Some readers have believed the account of a superior subterranean master race and the energy-form called "Vril" The book was quite popular in the late 19th century, and for a time the word "Vril" came to be associated with "life-giving elixirs". The best known use of "Vril" in this context is in the name of Bovril (a blend word of Bovine and Vril). It also had a strong influence on other authors back then. When H. G.
