About The Artwork

The sheet was made using linocut technique. In terms of the theme and plot, the engraving dates back to the style of traditional Ukrainian print graphics. Attribution Havrilenko Hrigory Ivanovich (1927–1984) – a Ukrainian painter, graphic artist and illustrator. One of the leading representatives of unofficial Ukrainian art and the generation of the sixties. He graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute (now the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture) (1955; his teachers were Kasiyan, A. Pashchenko, I. Pleshchinsky). The author’s works are stored in the National Art Museum of Ukraine (Kiev), the Museum of the Sixties (Kiev), Sumy and Lebedinsky art museums, private collections in Ukraine and abroad. Preservation The work is in a good state. It will complement the collection of connoisseurs of Ukrainian easel prints of the era of the 60s of the XX century, and will also be interesting to researchers of the art of the sixties. This Представленный graphic sheet is a striking example of the work of the Ukrainian nonconformist artist.
