About The Artwork
I love experimenting combining element to create a rich texture, I have uses semi precious stone, glass, metal charms, acrylic flowers, pearls and chain to make this lucky charm. Influences from folk and religious art, superstition, Greek evil eye pendants which hang in every household's front door to ward off evil spirits, Japanese pop art and Russian icons colour my work. i love making objects which will fascinate and slightly confuse the viewer, like they are seeing some artefact of a culture they are unfamiliar with, yet familiar because of all the hidden details and clues. A magic spell, a fairytale fantasy relic. the piece is backed in felt and has a hanging ring, and a signed engraved metal tag

I studied at the prestigious Royal College of Art in London, I work as a full time creative and have done since 1998, since I graduated from my MA. I come from a background mixing fine art with Fashion and textiles. I grew up in a Creative Family, my Grandfather was a Painter and interiors specialist, as well as my other family members owning an leather accessory factory (working for John Galliano and Vivienne Westwood) and 2 tailors in Saville row, so i grew up seeing things being made rather than bought, and my fascination with all things creative and craft started at an early age. I have a love of detail and embellishment, intricate beading in both 2D and 3D works. My signature style is combining bright colours and textures. I love decoration and the idea of collecting charms and tiny treasures to evoke a memory or emotion
