About The Artwork
Kimono with slippers, makes part of a series of scuptures which have their origin in a simple paper folding in the technique of Origami. I realize this paper folding model carving directly in stone, in this case in the most prestigious statuary marble. Traditionally the origami art paper is decorated on one side and plane on the other side. I try to give this impression to my origami sculptures by the application of a hand chiseld structured surface. The combination of often two different objekts (kimono+slippers) is supposed to create emotianally a sort of stillife, to create a recognisable and amusing atmosphere.
