The human figure is to me, up to this point of my career, the main inspiration source, a starting point for a continuous self-defining artistic-plastic experience. The Female Bell Ringers are a harmonious combination between complex geometry of the female body and the geometrical purity of a hemisphere. The approach of this theme generated a variety of particular cases that evolve from well relieved figurative to almost abstract sculptures. Along with works made of stainless steel belonging to the cycle The Fliers and Female Bell Ringers, in the Mirror Man the reflection angle and the deformation of the reflected image were conceived so that the viewers may explore their own appearance. The relation between sculpture and spectator becomes more complex as the universe reflected belongs both to the work and to the viewer, who takes possession of a virtual space by which he is swallowed at the same time. The self-reflexive interrogation to which the viewer is impelled acquires, due to the mirror curvature, a different dimension, as the image reflected does not maintain the proportions of the surrounding reality any more, nevertheless making possible its recognition by the viewer.
