Art Description

Sculpture: Paint, sand, PVA glue, Plaster and Stone on Canvas, Wood and Other.

A bas-relief (basso-relievo?) sculpture (I had to look it up). Similar for sale. This is a 40 x 40" commission for a representation of this common spiral pattern (often called a triskelion or triskele) - representational of ones found on the entrance stone to New Grange burial mount (County Meath, Ireland). The spiral symbols have been rather 'over-egged' as representations of all thing harmonious and very 'celtic', but there is a lot of eveidence that this like a lot of others stuff is quite universal in it's usage. Above all it is rather pretty and soothing. I think it looks like a boy whizzing around on his bike - or a woman with a rather large chest...! ?.....It is a bas-relief painting/sculpture made from a adjusted canvas, MDF, builders adhesive, sand, PVA glue and painted with spray guns using altered poster and acrylic paint.
