About The Artwork

Prophetess is one from the series "Prophetesses" (6 quite similar sculptures, made for the exhibition with title "Tradition". These sculptures are approximately 17 cm high and are made with three different materials: one is the plastic in the core of the sculpture- this is figurine, made with 3d printer. The other material is gel, similar to that one, which scientists are using for electrophoresis- that is DNA- sequencing and analyzing. At the back of the sculpture (please check also other photos in collection) there are few gels with dye and the sequencing is clearly visible. But there is also another gel, which is wrapped around the 3D figurine and sequencing gels. This gel forms a palm print so finger prints and palm lines are clearly visible. Keywords: palm, print, biology, sublime, tradition, woman, 3D sculpting, 3D print, figurine, science&technology, gel
