About The Artwork

This painting has a planetary, spacey style, and as with a lot of my paintings, this one was also created from the inspiration I feel from the wild graffiti, the lights, and the vibrant energy of being in the city! I have painted it to have an energetic feeling of movement and speed. This is one of my series painted on reclaimed wood. I have worked this series on wood to merge the vibrant modern feel with the old distressed look of the wood panels I work with, it has plenty of character, and texture! I love working with the more distressed pieces of wood, this one has drilled holes and battered areas which looks interesting with the modern street style painting. This piece of reclaimed wood is an asymmetric shape, so the size in the listing details is measured by the longest length measurement on the right hand side (of 10.5) the shorter length measurement (on the left side) is 9.2 inches. The prints are cropped to a rectangle. The first picture shown of the original shows some of the wall around it so you can see the whole piece. Music is a huge part of my inspiration, I allow the sounds I'm listening to, to inspire my brush, tool, or pen movements. I create depth with many many layers, mixing brush marks, mediums and tools. Painted with flow from my heart, allowing my work to flow through me as I paint.

Accomplished textile artist returned to canvas, I've spent the last 18 years exploring texture and colour through textile mediums, and have at last come back to painting with a huge flow of energy! I have two main inspirations, light and flow, and urban city style. All of my pieces are hugely driven by music and sound and movement, the sounds I'm listening to greatly inspire the flow of my brush, tool, or pen movements. I create depth to my work through many layers and techniques of rubbing back and layered brushstrokes. I am hugely inspired by Jackson Pollock, Gerhard Richter, Mark Rothko, Roy Lichtenstein, and Jasper Johns I usually mix my mediums, using mainly acrylics, spray paint, household, markers. I paint on canvases and reclaimed wood.
