In the presence of a horse, time slows, and the world narrows to hoof beats and soft breaths. Each moment is a connection, drawn into their soulful gaze and quiet wisdom. As I stand beside these magnificent creatures, I'm reminded of the simplicity and beauty of life, stripped down to its purest essence. There are no judgments or expectations, only a silent understanding that transcends words. In this sacred space of mutual respect and trust, I find solace and renewal, as the horse teaches me the art of being fully present in the here and now. In the art of photo and Encaustics, this moment is captured in layers of beeswax, resin, and pigment. My photograph of the horse frozen in time, is embedded within the textured surfaces, adding depth to its essence. Through this ancient technique the horses spirit is preserved, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in timeless beauty and grace.

Until the age of 8, my significant hearing loss went undiagnosed. The quiet (almost silent?) world I lived in as a child nurtured a heightened appreciation of my visual world. So enamored by the intense kaleidoscope of colors and shapes surrounding me that an intense love of drawing and painting was born. It was at the age of five, while still in kindergarten that I declared I would be an Artist. Today the paintings I create spring from my earliest loves of art, my horses, time in nature and in my garden. Travel and adventure also deeply feeds my soul and my creative process. The inspiration for paintings that I discover are an integral part of my works.
