About The Artwork

Custom Painting – Large Diptych Impressionist Landscape This painting was commissioned from an art collector who had several things she wanted to incorporate into this painting that bring her joy. She was specific about the colors of blue, green and the black-eyed susan’s, dragonfly’s and Maryland blue crab. The idea for this painting came to me in a dream, I awoke to paint a quick study at 4am. She loved the idea, we added a few more elements and this is where it led us! It is such an honor and privilege to co-create with someone to help them bring more joy into their life and brighten their space. Two 30″ x 30″ gallery wrap canvas diptych painting painted in acrylic, UV satin finish.

Globally collected artist Deb Breton is an abstract expressionist artist living & working in Northern California, U.S. Hi, I'm Deb, In school, I was that quirky kid who was always drawing during English Lit. Class, or backstage painting sets for the Drama Department. After graduation, I dove into the fast-paced world of news at the Saint Petersburg Times. And at the top of my “corporate career”, I was an artist and designer for such notable clients as Nestle, Warner Brothers, and the Dali Museum. But I just wasn't happy with the hustle, and I missed getting my hands dirty working on my own ideas. So, I picked up wood turning, which eventually led me full circle back to painting. Nowadays, you'll find me in my quasi hippie studio working with acrylics, oils, ink, charcoal, spray paint, and even repurposed bits found on nature walks. My tools are things like sponges, wire, rope, branches, squeegees, and I've even painted a floral using fresh cut flowers as my brushes. I've been on a roll lately, breaking a lot of the rules I was “taught” about art. But probably the hardest thing for me to learn was to step out of my own way and let creativity flow. My art is a reflection of my scattered mind —inspired by life, nature, the universe and sometimes even the beat of my playlist. It's REALLY hard for me to stay on script—my ADHD ensures that. But I find peace and calm in painting abstract art. For me, art is about telling an emotional story, but with color. And it's about embracing who we truly are and celebrating what makes us unique. It's a reminder to honor our authentic selves in a world that often tries to box us in.
