Sailboat Meridian, the symbol of Klaipeda. You can find the sailboat Meridian while spending time in Klaipeda old town. Its white colour and past great sails can be noticed from a distance. The exciting story of the sailing ship Meridian starts in 1948. In Finnish city Turku, was born the lovely symbol of Klaipeda city . The Meridian was one of the others 48 sailboats built in Finland. The Meridian came from Finland to the shores of Klaipeda and from there started its journey as a training ship. During its 20 years of exploitation, this seafaring symbol visited many European and African harbours. In 1971, Meridian was moored at the Dane riverbank in the middle of Klaipeda city. From that time, the restaurant was established in this sailing boat. It attracts visitors and warms Klaipeda people hearts. Here I used acrylic paint to show the beauty and light of a sailboat. The realistic style helps to enjoy the colourful transitions. The artwork is made with acrylic, the edges are painted and the painting can be hung without a frame. The painting is varnished, that protects it from sun light, smoke and humidity.

A painting is a melody that plays with the sounds of emotions and beauty in our head and heart. To me, each painting is a piece of life - a life that lives on its own, on its own terms. You start from a blank canvas, and like creating music sound-by-sound, you add each new brushstroke, each new color, creating harmony, beauty, and a new experience for a mind to absorb. From the chaos of emotions and imagination, a new balance is born in each painting. I am Galina Vasiljeva, a full-time artist. Originally I am from Lithuania, now I live and create in sunny Cyprus. I have completed my art education in Klaipeda, Lithuania. Since that day, I don't stop experimenting, trying out new ideas, and improving, letting my imagination guide me. I am inspired by such artists as Pablo Picasso, Tamara de Lempicka, Georgia O'Keeffe, Paul Cezanne, Sandro Botticelli, Lyonel Feininger, Jean Metzinger, Childe Hassam, Konstantin Korovin, Yayoi Kusama, Banksy, David Kracov. and more artists. My paintings are mostly inspired by nature, architecture, and everyday life. I participate in competitions and exhibitions. Now I am a full-time artist. I travel a lot and I try to transfer the beauty I see around the world onto the canvas. My works are made with oil paint and acrylic on canvas, applied with palette knives and brushes. I like to share this life with others, bringing it into their homes. Through my paintings, I want to give happiness, confidence, strength, and the beauty of the world surrounding us. So that everyone can enjoy their lives.
