About The Artwork
A "pigeon peak" sits on the peak of the roof of a house or barn. Decorative designs were cut from galvanized tin, which added a nice appearance to early 1900's homes. Its real purpose was to keep birds from landing on the roof and pooping. The razor-sharp sheet metal did the job. This house still exists just two blocks from Main Street in Fredericksburg, Texas. I was taken by the way the sun fell over the windmill.

I want my work to catch the viewer's eye and create an emotional connection. I was born in North Dakota and grew up in the Pacific Northwest, Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington. I began drawing when I was about five years old. I can remember how fascinated I was with fingerpaints and how the colors blended as I smeared my hands through the greasy paints.
