About The Artwork

Drawing on the theme of a Romanian folk tale "Wise Girl" Man and woman lived for themselves. They were so poor that they almost died of starvation. Even these people did not have a corner ... They walked, wandered, but could not find housing. Who will receive them, two beggars, with a bunch of children? And they had so many children that it's hard to imagine! All older children are girls, and very little ones, like mushrooms in the forest, are boys. Of all the children, the oldest daughter was the smartest. She cared for her younger sisters and brothers, taught them to be hardy, to tolerate their bitter fate. Boyarin, on the lands of someone wandering with his family, for some reason it was a pity for those children. One day, when a man came to him to seek asylum, he said: - Man, I see that you work like a pitchfork, from dawn to dawn, and you live badly! So I decided to give you a piece of land. Choose the place you like and start building a dugout. He thanked the poor man for the boyar, and by the evening he had already dug a hole for the dugout. But this time he was not happy. It happened that the place he had chosen was near the yard of a rich peasant. At night, the rich man's cow as if he had thrust into it, fell into that pit and died. In the morning, neither the world nor the dawn, the rich man overtook the poor man, grabbed him and dragged him to the executioner. "Boyar, this man is a stranger in our village," said the rich man. He dug a hole, left it uncovered for the night, and my cow fell into that pit and died! .. Now you judge yourself: should he pay me for the cow? What is my deal with paying nothing? - Boyar! Said the poor peasant, weeping bitterly. "I have nothing to say, though you kill me, though you hang ... What should I do when the poor have possessed me? The neighbor told the truth ... In fact, I dug a hole, but did not think to hurt him. I said everything, boyar, now you are judging yourself, judging right ... The boyars thought. He did not know how to do it, he saw that the poor man was not in his own volition. When he thought, he said, - That's good people. I'll give you three puzzles and give you three days to guess. Remember. The first conundrum: what is the most massive thing in the world? Second: what is the fastest in the world? And third: what is the best thing in the world? Now go and know: if you do not guess, it will be bad for you! .. The villagers returned home. The rich man is glad that he will guess everything. And the poor man was crying, not knowing what to say to the boyar ... The day passed, the second ... It was fun in the rich man's soul, for he was sure that everyone in the world knew. And the poor man thought and sighed ... The children surrounded him, seeing that he was sad, but did not dare to ask why ... Only the older daughter dared to ask why the father was so sad. - Trouble, baby, that's all! Boyar gave us three puzzles. To guess them not by virtue of not only such a poor man as I, but also to the people who are ordained ... - And you tell me, Dad, and maybe we can help you ... - How can you help when you are not even able to eat even a baby? - And who knows, maybe we will come in handy. And in general, is it bad when we know those riddles? Then my father told them everything. He also said about the threat. The older daughter thought for a long time, then approached her father. "Don't be sad, Daddy," she said. "When you go to the boyars, I'll tell you something, maybe you can get out of trouble ..." In the morning, when the old father had to go to the boyar with the answer, the eldest daughter taught him what he should say there. The peasants came to the boyars. The rich man is arrogant, arrogant, and the poor - sad, in a latina swine ... Boyar turned first to the rich man: - Anu tell me, man, what is the most fat in the world? The rich man replied: - What, boyar, can be bigger than a pig from my soot? On it, the fat on four fingers! - You don't say! Said the boyars and turned to the poor man. The poor man replied: - I think with my stupid head that the earth is the most massive in the world, because of it all the riches ... - Right! - confirmed the boyars and again addressed the rich man: - Tell me, man, what is the fastest in the world? - My stallion, boyar! Said the rich man. "When I release him, he runs through mountains and valleys so that hoofs are not visible!" "And I, boyar, think to myself that there is nothing faster than an opinion ..." said the poor man. - Your truth, man! - Boyar agreed and asked the rich man again: - What is the best thing in this world? - Nothing better, noble benefactor, there is no justice in your world! - And I, boyar, think so: there is nothing better in the world for peace between people! - You say it! - Boyar agreed and cried out to the rich man: - Get out of here, manly and mean man! Away! Or I will command you to be beaten so that you will not save your bones! .. The rich man fled without hearing his feet. And the boyar asked kindly: - Tell me, man, who taught you to respond so wisely? The poor man was staring. He did not want to tell the truth: he was afraid of the boyar ... But he insisted, and the peasant told him everything. Boyar was surprised that such a poor daughter had such a poor daughter, and ordered the next day to come to her, but that she did not come and did not come, and not expensive, and no roadside, and that she was not dressed and naked. Hearing this, the poor man wept bitterly, and with tears in his eyes he returned home. The eldest daughter, after listening to her father, calmed the yoga - Don't be afraid, Dad, I'll study him, just get me two cats. In the morning, the girl wrapped herself in a train that caught fish, took two cats, sat on a goat and went to the estate. Therefore, she did not go or walk, because, sitting on a tent, one or the other foot touched the ground. She did not reach by the road or by the roadside, for the fox kept walking, grazing: there and there he tore the leaves from the trees. The girl was neither dressed nor naked but wrapped in a train. Seeing the girl, all the apprentices were numb, and the boyars did not want to admit their defeat and ordered to release the two fiercest dogs. They rushed at the girl, and she released both cats, and the dogs chased after them. The poor daughter, meanwhile, approached, as it was supposed, the boyar's porch. Boyar was forced to accept the girl. He ordered her to dress her in wedding clothes because the girl seemed to him the most beautiful in the world, and decided to marry her. But before he went under the crown, he said: - I will marry you, but I will never let you go to court without me! The girl agreed. It's been a long time since their wedding. One day, when the boyars were not at home, the villagers came to court. Upon learning that the boyar was gone, they approached his wife, who was sitting on the porch, and began to complain. - I was going on the road, and here the wheel broke. I couldn't harness a three-wheeled mare, which, by the way, had to be foaled. Then I asked my neighbor, here he is, to lend me a wheel. And he - which is true, then true - lent me a wheel in the evening to return it in the morning. But it happened that at night the mare got scared ... Another peasant, interrupting him, said: - Don't believe him, lady, don't believe him! That got my wheel scratched! And the ladies still listened and remained silent. The villagers waited, waited, and saw that the lady was not going to judge them, and asked: - Where is the boyar, ladies? "Gone," she says, "to the corn-deer above the pond, for every night the frogs get out into the field and eat corn ..." The peasants looked at each other, surprised that the lady was throwing such nonsense, and then one of them asked: - Can frogs, ladies, eat corn? "I don't know if frogs can eat corn or not," the lady replied. "But I know firmly that the wheel cannot be foaled. Only now did the peasants understand what the woman wanted to say, were surprised by her wisdom, and reconciled. Boyar returned home and asked: - What's new here? - What could be new here? Replied the lady, "These are the peasants." And she told them what they wanted and what she told them. "Because you did not keep your promise," the boyar was angry, "without me judging, we will no longer live together." Take away everything you like most about my property and go back to your father! "Your word is a law for me," replied the lady. since you banish me, let me finally have fun at your husband's house. Hold a banquet, call our friends and acquaintances here, and we'll have a good time together for a goodbye. Boyar agreed and ordered a banquet, to which he invited friends and acquaintances. They sat, walked, had fun. The lady was pouring and pouring the boyar into the glass, and he drank and drank. Then the lady took him, took her to her father and put her to bed. Here he slept until morning. Waking up in the morning, the boyar asked: - Where am I? The lady answered him: - In my father's house. When you drove me out of the house, you allowed me to take whatever I like most from your estate. So I did. I like my husband the most. I love him a lot! So don't scold me for taking it with me. Boyar thought-thought and said: - Let's go, woman, home, let's live as we still lived. Now I understand what a wise wife I am!
