About The Artwork
This piece is the first part of a triptych about love, sexuality, and mortality. The second piece depicts a couple, just bones. Without skin and flesh, the figures are genderless. As the figures are cropped, they are depersonalised, and can be seen in a more conceptual sense, rather than as characters. Less of the plywood shows through in this piece than in the other two. The golden section between the figures is bright and lustrous.

BerriBlue is a Polish / Irish artist based in Porto, Portugal. Prominent in her work are themes of mental health, femininity, sexuality, and mortality. Though well known for her street art, BerriBlue is also a successful studio artist. She has had four solo shows to date, and her work is held in collections in Dublin, Lisbon, Mozambique, Porto, and Los Angeles. She trained as a printmaker and graphic designer, and has released a line of beautifully illustrated silk scarves, though painting was always her first love.
