About The Artwork

Starting and inspiration from a traditional arranged family photos and scenes in English TV series, shaped it up a subject with a number of stereotypes and caricatures typical of everyday comments and references. To accommodate all the participants I moved up to a large size and put painstaking different characters in their place before the paint job started . During the work I stopped and made new observations and concluded eventually that in any family are all characters , and each one of us has a little of all of them , sometimes more one and sometimes more the other . The figures in the painting is made of " childlike " form and invite with a smile viewer to find good stories and hidden memories. NOTE: The frame is painted on canvas.

Born in 1972 and lives in Oslo. My paintings expresses thoughts about using stereotypes and caricatures to describe situations, human relationships, individual or perhaps just a hint of sadness or joy in a glance. Much of my inspiration I find in memories and moments around adolescence and childhood, or experiences. I unders yourself how that moment can communicate very different depending on the viewer's personal history and cultural affinity. In many of my paintings there are many clues to start a story or resurrecting memories. In the paintings there is ofthen not normal boundaries between different themes, images and instruments. But all packed in colorful, borderless world where the use of humor, satire and symbolism searches against emotions like fear, courage, laughter and love to open up in earnest and underlying message. "It is in the figurative painting I've found a place for my free spirit and perfectionist tendencies". I work with structured design and composition. Despite this discipline I have an emotional approach to painting and love to discover a picture as it develops. And I'm open to let the image forming their own concept or story. My goal is to get others to feel that picture exudes energy and stir up the viewer's imagination with the freedom to fill their inner pictorial world with anything, without normality and shyness.
