Sunset Print - Limited Edition of 25

Limited editions of 130x90cm are printed on Hahnemühle FineArt Photo Rag paper 308 g/m2, and are delivered with author certificate In this image I portray myself floating quietly at sunset time. The color of the light projected onto the stone and water was golden. The whole scenery transmitted at the time feelings of relaxation, calmness and peacefulness. Except that the temperatures were much higher than usual. Last summer we felt here in Spain the climate changing. It was not theory anymore. More fires, drought and high temperatures. For this reason I transformed the bucolic scene into a fluorescent, artificial look, in order to express what we could feel at the moment but was invisible. So the woman floating, is she enjoying herself or is she striving to survive? The idea of her tended over water suggests the possibility of the new relationship that humans need to develop with the planet. We are here passing by, it doesn't belong to us, but we belong to it. We are the endangered specie in an ecosystem that will continue without us if we cease to exist. Prints in smaller sizes are available directly through Saatchi in open editions.
