Surae These pines always make me feel l ike I'm in an other country, they don't feel Dutch, but in a good way. Like your on holiday somewhere far away. I walk these forests almost everyday with my dear friend for 10+ year now. They feel pretty much as my own backyard. I know all kinds of beautiful hidden spots, but also almost every time we discover something new. Like an old friend you think you know but who can surprise you anyway. Born in 1974, little me read every book about nature, dinosaurs, ancient Egyptians and Dr.Seuss. A bit older, wanted to be Indiana Jones. At Willem de Kooning (art) Academy (1993-1996) in Rotterdam, really learned to look and wonder. As a former geography (and museum)teacher I ask questions, like to zoom in and out at the world. Questions are very important, so is doubt. What inspires me are both science and nature, the tension between these two worlds can sometimes be surprisingly alike. Work you can find here is 2D. I'm currently studying ceramics Art Academy in Belgium. I love the diversity of clay, I'm looking forward to putting up ceramic work here on Saatchi. I live and work with my guy, kids, two fluffy rabbits and a big red cat in the gezellige province of Brabant, The Netherlands. You can find more about me on the net.
