About The Artwork
The Colosseum in Rome is an iconic building that defies the ages. Countless citizens since the Romans have quarried the stone from the landmark to use in their own buildings and it lies in partial ruin - yet still it dominates and has an incredible power. I wanted to produce a piece of art that mimicked that quality of hewn rock. Paintings created from self-tapping screws hand-screwed into plywood. A different volume and shape is created from the screws.
