Nikolaus Weiler lives and works as a freelance sculptor in Berlin since 1993. The focus of his work is the construction of space and bodies from and to all sides. The aim is a universal and objective sculpture in the field of tension between dynamics, movement and change. The spatial sculptures consist of different materials (metal, wood or glass), which complement and expand each other in their properties. The all-dimensional sculptures are a special kind. They can be presented on different sides and thus change their spatial and physical expression in a vivid manner. They can be weightless, static, dynamic or spacious. Metal and wood constructions The metal is glued to the wood and additionally secured with special rivets. These are barely visible. The wood is glued to a plywood substructure to prevent cracking in the rigid metal frame. All surfaces are finely sanded and primed with linseed oil varnish and shellac. Finally, they are preserved and finished with Renaissance polishing wax. http://www.nikolaus-weiler.de
